At Bloggy Award, every single day we review a blog in terms certain criteria-:

What we don't take into account is a blog's poularity, as you would find on The Top 100 Blogs at Technorati, Blogebrity or at the Blog Network List. These blog lists are useful, but the metrics used for placing importance on a single blog is not on a personal level. They use such things as Technorati rank, MSN Search pages indexed, Yahoo! inlinks, Google backlinks and so on- rather than actually visiting the blog manually and giving it a fair shot.

This leaves no chance for the blogger just starting out, even if the blog in question is the best one has ever seen in terms of design and content! Also, as many of these blog list websites are owned by U.S companies, one inevitably finds an unnatural bias towards U.S related blogs and bloggers.
